Klemens Eisner: Maybe Dying Is Okay

We’ll all end up on Morphine,
If we’re lucky enough,
If we’re lucky enough.
As the memory begins to fray
And you slowly start to fade away
might as well say
Maybe dying is okay.

The cleaning up and paying bills
And the broken hearts
And broken vases on the ground
The annoyance of this vacuum-cleaning sound
And the dust that seems to settle every time you turn around
Try to look away
Maybe dying is okay.

As we take out our old and rusty bikes and ride them to the lake close by
I tell you stories I made up, you show me naughty pictures in the sky
And you smile mischievously.
We’re lying here until we begin to shiver
Now I’m glad we don’t lie three feet deeper
And we’re lying here until there’s nothing left to say.
I really want to stay.

A billion faces to be seen
And a couple of them
You have seen far to often
You’re mimic softens
Every time you take them to the train
But you know that they’ll come back again someday
Maybe dying is okay.

As we take out our old and rusty bikes and ride them to the lake close by
I tell you stories I made up, you show me naughty pictures in the sky
And you smile mischievously.
We’re lying here until we begin to shiver
Now I’m glad we don’t lie three feet deeper
And we’re lying here until there’s nothing left to say.
I really want to stay.

But someday you’ll fade away
Please don’t ever fade away
But someday you’ll fade away
Maybe dying is okay
